Harambee: Let's Pull Together
April 8, 2017
Harambee is a Swahili word which means to "pull together." In Kenya, when someone in the community is in need, a harambee will be held, and the community comes together to help the person in need. We are raising funds to expand our peace building programs in local schools as well as to our sister school in Kenya. By working with communities here and abroad, we not only teach important peace-building skills including conflict resolution and anti-bullying programs, we learn about and build connections with people across the world. It is in learning about and humanizing others that empathy grows and peace is built.
